IELTS

The IELTS test is a test of English language proficiency in listening, reading, writing and speaking, and is designed for people who intend to study, immigrate or work in countries where English is the language of communication. The IELTS test is divided into the Academic and General Training tests, both of which measure listening, reading, writing and speaking skills. The listening and speaking test questions are the same for the academic and General training tests, while the reading and writing test questions are different.

The IELTS Academic test, known as IELTS A, is for groups of students applying for higher education (e.g. undergraduate as well as postgraduate and beyond) and tests the ability to communicate academically in an English-speaking environment. IELTS Academic results are now recognized by a wide range of universities and colleges.

General Training

The IELTS General Training test, known as IELTS G is intended for people who want to work or immigrate in Canada, Australia, the UK, Ireland or New Zealand, and can also be used for applications to institutions below the bachelor's degree level. The IELTS G score is used by various organizations to help determine your ability to work, study or live in the country you are applying to.
